Wow, simply amazing. It's funny how we become so used to seeing a common species in this trade, but this thread really takes me back to the first time I set my eyes on a frogspawn.
Here is a Purple and Green tipped hammer ( the best looking hammer I have ever seen), I got this FRAG (colony) off of a very nice local reefer that had a huge colony, this one is mostly green tipped but there are a few heads of purple tipped, I also have another frag that is mostly purple, but dont have pics with me at work. Enjoy
Here are some of mine... tough to capture the colors in a pic. There's an aussie peach tipped hammer, one with lavender tips and gold tentacles, and a yellow frogspawn.
nice photos. I really like those Euphyllids and used to have a few but got rid of them when working in the tank became impossible to do. I seem to be very sensitive to their stings. My arms would look like they were covered in poison ivy after brushing against them while working in the tank.
I had the luck of owning a reef while I lived in California many years ago. I used to be able to go directly to the distributors and get livestock the day after it came in.
Here in NC the LPS pickings are very slim. :thumbdown
Most of my LPS, inlcuding most of my Euphyllia, are from AquaSD, who sells online all the time. But others are from etailers like LiveAquaria. I would think that nowadays, with so many etailers, one's location shouldn't make a difference.
I don't see anything that's rare now..........you can get any of these almost anywhere on line like Peter mentioned. I have a good selection here in Ohio locally too.
I have one that I bought locally that the retailer called peach. It has light green tinted stems & the tips are pinkish. The heads are huge close to 3/4" and look like blown up Fred Flintsone mallets. Does anyone else have anything like it? I'll try to post a pic later.
