ok i would love to get in on this, but i really don't have any "rares". in fact the only thing i do have is a sunset monti that i got at the frag swap. can i participate in any way?

Hmm... ok, I think I should be able to do a couple frags of Karl's Candlelight. I'll find something for the 3rd frag.
If that works, I'd like to request for primary/secondary:
Orenji danae/Dinosaur Egg (lineaged to Matt)
If no Orenji shows up, sounds like Perry would be in line

No worries Mike, I was waiting for someone to catch that.
I'm going to work out a rare with person #20. Becuase I may not be able to provide their first choice (or even second) they will have first pick in the swap.
Luckily we have a few people who want to see this work, so with a little help I think we can keep #20 happy.
If you have any thoughts on how to make that work better I would love to hear them.

Looks like there is still some confusion. The only valid request right now is Mr. Ugly's. No one should be posting requests unless they have heard from me that they are a participant - this swap is invite only.
However, you are free to post responses if you have the coral someone else has requested.
Please reread the rules at the top and let me know if you have questions so I can make this easier next time.

Ok I am way confused at this thing now but I will add that I have some steve Elias stag that I can frag too.
Wouldn't it make more sense to have multiple strings going as to not log jam it up with one request. What if no one has say Mr. Ugly's (for example) choices, does the swap die at that point?

Yes, it would be faster to have multiple strings. However, it would lead to more first requestor - last requestor problems as noted above.
If no one has frags requested after 3 days I will ask the requestor to submit a new request. But you're right, it could slow down very quickly. After all these are rare corals we are requesting.
Though this is slow, we have already identified 3 of the 20 participants in less than 24 hours. But, after a few days, if this is too slow I will split it into 2 strings to speed it along.
But for now the pace seems fine.

hey all, sorry for not posting back earlier, was busy most of the day at work.
thanks for the folks who pm'ed me regarding my picks (i know a few folks are kinda shy, though posting may help you getting picked later too i'm guessing, etc.. i'm sure another picker will want a sunset?.. i'll take a sunset..
).
i responded back to the first couple pm's last night and mr. ugly's fit the bill (sorry, didn't notice your post on the thread until midday today brianbiggoats after i already confirmed lineage with mr. ugly last night. i just responded to pm's, confirmed with mr. ugly to move things along, pm'ed asking cwolfus what i should do next now that i found someone, and promptly passed out last night..
). thanks charles for posting for me to move things along..
oh yeah, forgot to mention too, one person pm'ed that they only could make one frag and it seems we need to be able to make two frags of the 'rare to me' for the swap if i'm not mistaken (+ one additional different 'rare'), right?

also, not sure, but it may not be bad potentially for folks to mention what they have thats available/may be looking for.. guessing its kinda like the other 'pics' thread in that people being asked to pick may get ideas for things they would like that they may not have thought of originally?..
