RARE TO YOU Frag Swap

This looks like its going to be a lot of fun

I think 'Collectible Frag Exchange' best describes this event. It covers the many different reasons why hobbyists might want a particular coral.

Whether it be lineage, species, color morph, hardiness, characteristics, or all of the above - I think this transcends the connotation of 'rare'.

Happy reefing, everyone!

Since this is the first time for this type of swap, I am working to fix the gotchas on the fly. So from time to time you will see a modification to the rules. Here's one...

RULE CHANGE:

I'm going to reduce the request time to 24 hours to keep this moving.

So, now that almost 24 hours have elapsed since Budgetyourself first posted her request I have asked her to come up with 2 more requests.

Thanks

O.K. - since my first two picks were "dream corals" how about a true red milli (or prostrada) - Atlantis has several really nice ones and so does Tyree - please not a pink one
Or my second choice is a true red yuma (not orange) Hopefully these choices will keep it all moving - Pam

not sure how others feel about it, but i think if people could mention a few corals they think are particularly nice/colorful in their tanks (pics are even better!). it may help people who are requesting.. (so nash and others, take some photos of some corals you think are nice that you can frag..), especially since the current requester is asking for a particular color morph (i'm guessing this also generates interest/demand in general for your coral, which is how 'rares' are sometimes made (and/or you could have tyree/etc. pick it up and resell.. instant fame! :D) ..

i know i put another thread out there, but maybe it would be nice for folks to post some of their potential very nice unnamed collectible corals/pics they have on this thread.

i figure people's pics would potentially move requesters beyond only 'lineage' corals (i liked the idea of us, as a community, deciding what we think would be nice/collectible corals), generate interest/bumps for the thread as well as see other nice stuff folks got? just an idea.. ;)

I might actually have a red millepora. Need to double check and look to make sure it's not pink.

edit: Ok I have a branching red millepora that was given to me by Dudley, however it the red is not as pronounced as much as atlantis' version.. mostly because it's still growing in, also I don't have it under 1000000 kelvin bulbs either :) So nix me from this unless you want to take a chance, or ask Dudley how red it really gets.

we have a red abroltenoides (sp?), but it is still a bit on the small size.. we could get 1 frag from it, but not much more than that. :(

EDIT : We run 10Ks also, so it is a much darker, "duller" red than I have seen in the web site pictures. We also have a red milli.. but more brickyard red than fire engine red.. likely due to ours lights also.. hard to say.

I see I messed up on my earlier post - it was sfsuphysics - sorry for the mistake - so I would like the favia if you want to frag it - Pam

That was me Pam :)

Of course if you mean by "other site" the 'rare frags suggestion thread' .. if not I apologize profusely, I'm tired as all heck, and need food.

Ack!

Ok, I am tired, I'll wait for Charles to decipher what is said, and see if he gives me the okay for the next person up :)

Yah, what Karl said :)

Regarding Karl's suggestion,

I already tried to change the name of the title but couldn't. I'll see if I can get MOD help in a bit.

Oy vey... name my coral, ok I'll do that and my request within an hour, and I'll even put more than two requests incase we have another 24hr incident, I need to get some ideas first.
