RARE TO YOU Frag Swap

I'll give it till noon tomorrow...Thanks Charles. In the meantime I will think of some other stuff just in case :).

Sure, I encourage you to have side trades at the swap.

Its all about spreading the wealth!

I only ask that you don't let it undermine the quality of frags in the swap. Don't forget to commit an equivalent coral for your 3rd frag at the swap.

So what is an "equivalent" coral? It says an equally rare coral, however this is a "rare to you" swap, so is the 3rd one also a "rare to you"? I might think my blue & purple millepora is a very nice coral, however others might not think it that special, etc.

Good point, Mike.

I'm going to rely on people to use their own best judgement. One important aspect of this swap design is that we are not relying on anyone else to judge what is, or is not, highly collectable, desirable, or rare.

I'm trusting each and every one of us to act in the best interest of this swap and it's goal - to spread around these great specimens. Every person attending is personally invested in and responsible for making this event what it is. And I frankley trust us to each do what we can.

That would make sense.

Probably fine if it's one of the corals listed in the RTY suggestions thread, or requested by a participants.

The swap will be as "good" as people make it :)

is this the lime in the sky that someone is looking for ??

This is a lime in the sky

limited_limeinthesky_colony.jpg

Not saying yours isn't, but there's so much blue that it's hard to tell, not to mention the picture above (which isn't mine btw :D) is taken from a top down.

Green coralite and baby blue branch right ?, I think my pix got too much blue. The growing patern is the same too, lem me take a better pix

Yeah that is why I mentioned your picture was hard to tell, it says at the bottom you have 20k bulbs, and if you're not careful with pictures the blue will oversaturate the CCD very easily.

Where did you get the colony (or frag if you grew it out), that might potentially help narrow it down what it is, as every green coralite with baby blue branch acropora isn't a lime in the sky, although not even reeffarmers state what species it is.

The lineage is important, The coral originally came from Greg Carroll and is offered by Reeffarmers.com as a limited edition. northbay-reefer Where did you get your colony?

I have three different colonies actually, this one I got from Atlantis. Its the most colorfull of the bunch. The other two are from trades with people in the bay area and is not sure where they got it from. One is lighter and one is darker blue branch, but the coralites are the same green color. I guess I cant prove the lineage.

Thanks Mr. Ugly, I somehow missed that part of sfsuphysics' post.

YES - the 3rd frag should also be "rare to you"

How about people wanting to do some side trades. For the swap, I am bringing two Oregon torts, and my extra frag will be the Lime in the Sky.

What I have to trade are - L.E. Insignis, L.e Ponape torch stag, L.E. ultimate blue staghorn acro, L.E. Steve Elias Stag, L.E. Lime in the Sky, L.E. green polyp toadstool (Tyree's). I also have, Jesus' pink tip tenuis (although the tips in my tank are not very pink) and his pink with blue tip Prostada (it is more purple than pink under my 20 K's) I also have the green slimer and Cali tort, but I am sure most people have these.

I could probaby also make another small frag of the Or. tort.

I also have a red stag that was from Rainbow corals - starting to acutually turn red.

I am interested in most any L.E. or frags from Atlantis or Reefready. I am setting up an LPS tank, so would also take cool LPS.

thanks, Pam

It seems I need to come up with some different stuff...

1. Alien Eye Echinopora at Reefready.net, here is a pic
Alien%20Eye%20Echinopora%201.jpg

2. Frog in a Blender chalice from Reefready.net
3. LE Rainbow montipora

Maybe this will work for someone :D.

Ruling on xinumaster and the Dino egg

Since xinumaster got his spot based on the commitment of a dino egg, but subsequently could not provide it, I'm going to reopen his spot. However, Xinumaster is still free to compete for the spot.

Here's how it works: For this space only, your request is set for an Oregon Tort provided buy BudgetYourself. Mr. Ugly is looking for:

• "Rainbow stylo" - wasn't a named LE, but it showed up one time last year in the Bay Area, and I think it might have been out in Sacramento too. The polyps were weird in that depending on what direction you looked at the coral, it could look green, turquoise, or violet. Kind of shimmering like an oil slick. I waited too long to get a piece and when I went back, the whole colony was gone

• Bookfish Neon Toadstool - not the Tyree one. Jim's was entirely neon green, including the entire polyp as well as the base tissue.

• Uncommon un-named chalice, lords, acros, encrusting montis, and softies

• Atlantis fovealata

• Blue Matrix acro

• 20,000 Leagues Lokani

• Jendub/ReefReady micros

• Pink/Red/Grape Watermelon Alien Eyes

• Aquascene Golden Eye

• Orenji danae

• Psychedelic Chalice

I think this one should fill pretty quick, but if not, Mr. Ugly will be asked to request other frags after 24 hours.

Questions? Post them here. ;)

Charles,

I can try to fill in Xinumaster's place. I can provide Mr. Ugly's request for Aquascene Golden Eye, which I got from James directly, even before it became LE. Now, it since I do have Oregon Tort already, if I can ask Pam (budgetyourself) that I don't have, it will be even better for me. From the list that Pam mentioned, I can take LE Ultimate Blue Staghorn.
LMK if this will work for the ruling and also both party, Pam and Norman. If not, to get this going, I am willing to take Perry's place anyway.
