Yes, I do that for a living, I used to be a university professor (at UT Austin) but now work for a natural history museum (California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco). More research time! :beer:

The Red Sea color morph is my favorite, and our studies show that the Red Sea ones are genetically unique.

I have a request! Any pics of Ecsenius? My favorite genus of blennies and i love almost all of them. I believe E. pulcher and E. frontalis are found in the Red Sea. If you have a pic of E. frontalis in its nigrovittatus form i'd scream.

also E. bathi if you have that! <--- dream ecsenius.

Oh, it certainly looks like a hybrid. If you are willing to take a fin clip I can do the genetic tests to make sure.
