i'd say take out the flame angel. IMO 30g is too small and if you ever get coral it is a hit or miss with them eating it.

the only one i dont recommend is the 6-line. The flame should do fine in a 30 gallong if its eating prepared foods.

list looks fine besides the 6-line :)

Not to mention sixlines can eat alot of beneficial things(and decimate small tanks). Ive seen mean adult percs and ocellaris, including ones that bite the hand that feeds them. Just something to keep in mind.

Have you considered any of the blennies, including the fangs? Small wrasses like the flashers or fairy would be neat. Basslets are interesting as are smaller hawkfish like the coral hawk.

firefish, perc, flame, royal gramma, sixline

but i to would remove the flame or sixline as the flame may eat coral, and the sixline eats beneficial stuff as Ray said

Flames need more room
Sixlines get aggressive and will be more so in a small tank

Why not 2 Clowns, a Royal Gramma and a Firefish?
I would personally not put that many in a 30, but Its better than your first list;)

Thanks for all the suggestions and feedback.

The flame and sixline were the ones i wasn't sure about. I have read a lot about these fish. Some says a flame angel will do fine in a 30g and some don't. Doesn't seem to be clear answer one way or the other on that topic.

Also i know the sixline can get aggressive. That is why i plan to put him in last. i have read many times that the sixline doesn't like new tank mates being added. One of the reason i wanted the sixline is to control the pod pop. in the tank. So eating the "good" stuff is not something i am worry about since i will also have a fuge.

I think i will start with the first 3 on my list and see how it goes from there.

IMO a 30 is fine for a flame. My friend had one for over a year in a 30 gallon. Ate everything and did very very well. a heater accident wiped out his tank.

perc pair, firefish, a goby/blenny and a flame pair will be fine. Keep up with maintenance and you'll have no problems. :)
