Rather quiet here lately....

Hi y'all,

I decided to post a picture or two of a tank that I admire since It's been rather quiet here lately.

Take a look at the number of the fish in this tank:

That's an insane amount of blue damselfish and green chromis. I would like to put that many in my tank, too, and see them school and split as a large fish approaches them....

Here's the full tank shot:

Look at the number of metal halides... I hate to see his electric bills. It's gotta be phenomenal with the tank being in Japan where everything is so expensive.

I was just thinking the same thing, that it's been very quiet here lately.

That is an impressive amount of fish and a nice looking setup!

Wonder how the butterfly and angels get along with the coral? What is that angel at bottom center in the lower photo?

I used to wonder about having butterflies and angels in a reef tank, but a number of Japanese SPS reefers with large tanks do that. The reefers talk about their butterflies or angels picking on SPS's, but they report that their picking don't seem to do much damage. Corals are still looking good generally despite the branches where fish were picking on (corals havel their polyps pulled in.)

Here's a couple of pictures from another tank:

These fishes are fat and happy and the corals don't seem to be damaged.

As for the blue angel at the bottom center in the lower picture above, I have to ask the tank owner what that fish is.

The 1st and 2nd pictures are actually from the same tank. These pictures were taken by two different people. 1st one was taken this August. The 2nd one was taken early last year.
I just can't get over the number of fish and the amount of light over this tank.

H@rry,

Is this the fish that you were asking about?

Well, I just got back from Tel Aviv after two weeks and spending the holiday with family. Though I don't add much usually, I figured I'd at least add to this thread. Tomoko, any chance you might STILL have those frags? I ended up leaving for Tel Aviv before I could get them. I'll be at CRA tomorrow or I can swing by after work this week as my schedule is stable until after Xmas.

2pm? I have church and then my son and I usually go to BAM for a "coffee milkshake" as he likes to call them. Will that time work for you?
