Razor 120 over a nano

Sorry for the x post from the equipment forum, however I thought there might be more specific knowledge in this forum. Any guidance is appreciated

I'm looking for a full spec LED for my 18x18x9 tank and the razor gets great reviews of course. Thoughts on such a powerful light over a nano? My issue is a PAR38 doesn't have the coverage which leaves me with a fixture such as the razor. I'm currently running a Kessil 150W however just not happy with the colors in the tank given no true violet LED at the lower end nor any high nm LEDs.

The AI Sol is just as expensive as the Razor, so I don't know why you would choose it.

Anyway, I am struggling with the same decision. I have a 10g Nano to light, and the prospect of spending $400 to do it seems pretty steep. The Razor should work for you as long as you're OK with the cost.

BTW, did you choose between 10K and 16K?

I think the AI is better then the razor. I run a DIY fixture from rapid led. I think thats the best bang for your buck.

you could get incontact with Oceans Paradise out of bismarck nd. They have a unnamed manufacture of LED lighting that runs 12 6500k daylight and 12 actinic blues for around 150$ more than enough for a nano. http://theoceansparadise.com/ I would actualy say that it could easily run a tank up to 20 gallons mounted right

Jon - I am leaning towards the 16K. I'm going to read through the maxspect threads to see what the general consensus is or just email the coral vue rep here at RC and ask him. The cost is what it is, there just aren't that many full spec lights out there. I run the Kessil today as I mentioned and while it is OK just doesn't make the corals look all that great.....espcially the acans.

Curtis - The Sol isn't full spec from what I can find on it. The lowest nm rating is 450 which I don't believe covers the required nm rating for cholorophyll a.
