I know there has been threads on this but the search function won't work for me today. I have a super healthy rbta in my tank right now but I have been wanting to add a carpet anemone as well. I've heard about diff anemones duking it out in the same tank. Does anyone have any success stories with diff anemones in the same tank? Please share!!

btw my new tank is a 60g.

Thanks.

Im wondering the same thing I have an RBTA Im looking for a LT or Carpet for my clowns, I have a 70g.

In my new tank

In my new tank

When i first moved over to my new tank the RBTAs were in first.

Two weeks later i put in a gignatea and low and behold my RBTAS moved to the outer edges of the tank.

Slowly but surely im taking the RBTAS out.

The gigantea i got was in a tank with two rbtas for a year so i may leave one or two RBTAS if i see any noticiable harm.

In my 60 cube with a single gigantea, there is physically no room for a bta. Even if you are not worried about alleopathy, ou have to remember that these animals can get 24" in diameter....

Hey EJ I have the same tank as you. Now i just need to go buy the same colored gigantea...haha. I actually work about 5 miles from reef hot spot. Will have to go check their place out one of these days. =)

Ej do you have a pic of your tank you can add to this thread? I'd like to see how spread out your anemone is in the tank. Right now I have a lot of room in my tank since I just cycled it.

A couple of years ago I had one of my Haddonis in the same tank as several BTAs ( green and red ). About every month or so the Haddoni would move around. Shortly after I sold off all the BTAs the Haddoni stopped moving around, and looked a lot better -- fuller and not expending and contracting as much.

I have tried the same thing with Haddonis and an LTA, the experience was pretty much the same.

I know that I will never mix Haddonis with any other anemones ( besides other Haddonis ) again.
