RBTA anemone has dropped and shrunk

I have a Rose Bubble Tip Anemone that I'm worried
I'm losing. I'm very new to reef tanks and would like
to know if there's any rescue action I can take.

He's been through quite a bit recently. He was moved
on Monday along with his entire reef tank setup
(water, rocks, fish, invertebrates) except for the filter
and skimmer into a totally empty tank with a brand
new skimmer/filter (skilter 250). I placed his perch
rock near the top of the rocks similar to where he
was previously located, but during the move he'd
worked his way around to bottom side of rock so it
wasn't the same.

I first turned lights on yesterday and by last
night he was looking fit and happy (almost 12" across).
I tried to phase the lighting out, turning off main light, and keeping blue actinic on for maybe half an hour, then turned LEDs and room lights on before turning off the blue. Even so, he recoiled and closed up <1 minute when I turned off the blue.

This morning, I waited for daylight to break, then turned on the aquarium lights. He opened up a bit before I left for work, but not to his form from last night.

Getting home now, he has either fallen or moved himself off the rock he was on and has re-anchored himself on a rock near the bottom. He's retracted quite a bit (maybe 3-4" across), but still open without showing a big trunk. His tentacles have shrunk to spaghetti sized, and have grown darker with only the tips still with a rosy color. His "mouth" (center of his disk) is open about 1/2". His base is still rosy.

Is this normal behavior (adapting or moving to a new
spot), have we lost him, or is there something I can do to improve his chances??

I should also note the new skimmer has not yet produced any scum even though bubble action seems
strong, and the powerhead circulation pump has stopped working, but there's fair current in the tank
from the skilter.

He's actuall improved some over the course of writing
this thread, with tentacles growing and getting a little
more color, but I'm ready to run out to replace powerhead and/or skimmer if that would help.

Thanks

How old is your tank? Water paraments? Lighting for the tank? Tank size? Filtration? I think it's either acclimating itself or it doesnt like the water quality. How long have you had it? Feeding? Or maybe something in the tank is bothering it.

Talking about a new filter and everything, your tank sounds like it is going through a cycle of some kind...

I would check the params as littleshark advised as well. That will tell us whether or not it is acclimating itself, or the system is going through the start-up cycle, something that would cause the need for the anemone to be removed.
