RBTA is now hiding

Rhinecanthus

In Memoriam
Less than 24 hours after acclimating to the new tank (with comparable lighting) this RBTA has walked all over and decided to park is behind the rockwork where he has remained for the last 5 hours.

Not getting very good light back there at all, but it is sitting there, bubbles expanding just hanging out.

Am I just being impatient? I dont see why the anemone wouldnt take a spot under the lights, or at least more out in the open where it will get SOME light!

Anyone have any thoughts? Is this normal?

I would give it some time. It's not just lighting, it's flow and general water parameters that affect it's "happiness."

Params are good, nitrates/trites are O/O

Water is running a little warm todaym almost up to 82.5

Im not giving up hope, but just wanted to see is this is normal behaviour.

Thanks!

mine did the same thing.. it is still behind a rock.. i feed it and it is doing well.. i just cant see it from the front of the tank...

oh well

Interesting.

Well, I am going to give it some time. If he doesnt come out I will just turn the rock around, AH HAHAHA!

:)

We will see what happens.

Let her rest and acclimate to your tank, if you turn the rock, it will go around the back:)
They take time to adjust, leave it rest.
The more you agitate it the more unhappy it will be.
Post a picture of her when you can as I would love to see her.

Sounds good nemo!

I will wait it out for a week or so and see how it goes. Hopefully she will come out!

I think my cleaner shrimp is mad because that was his little cave that she is now in. He could end up being a snack if he isnt careful

rhinecanthus.. def. need more patience with this one lol my anemone bta moved everynight for 6 weeks. i had a few perameter issues... whitch explains a lil why it couldent find its sweet spot, but after correcting everything and waiting it out, it looks like she might have found her sweet spot. im on 8 days and counting that shes been in the same place. she picked a heavier flow spot than i thought she woulda liked, but shes happy :)
