Hey guys I've been lurking around here for a few days now just reading up and such... I have a 55L Reef setup, just recently added a RBTA and a Perc Clown, the clown is still a little guy... The Rose setup shop in a day, found himself a nice spot on top of my rock.. My question is will this clown ever decide to host the Rose or what? and also, whats a good procedure for feeding the rose? I bought a pack of silversides today - was gonna do a feeding tonight when the big lights go out. any feedback would be great! thanks :smokin:

[welcome]

i feed mine frozen mysis... i feed during the day with the lights on... just give it time....

The clown may or may not host the anemone. This is not a natural host for the clownfish (in the wild) , but there's always a chance. Give him time to explore around, all's it takes is a little brush up against it and BAM, there's the love.

Feed your anemone when the lights are ON, try to feed the anemone when you feed the fish. After a while, depending on the clown.. some will take large pieces of food and feed the anemone.

I take a container, put some tank water in, then the anemone food , let it thaw (?) , then take a turkey baster, suck up a couple chunks of food and gently blow them into the anemone, and if the anemone is healthy it will consume the food in a matter of a couple minutes.

Good luck!

hey thanks! :) so a thawed half of a silverside be cool? do i just set the food on his disc near his mouth or should i wait for him to literally grab ahold?

Thanks for all the info guys, just fed the Rose a 1/4th of silverside.. put it in there with tweezers and waved it across the tenticals.... the Rose like grabbed ahold of it instantly and closed up halfway for a all you can eat buffet :D

hey btw, are there any anennomes that are natural for clownfish to host? is my rose a rouge? Or does it just all depend on the clown?
