i got a rbta a few weeks ago and the "green/blue" color on its inside is starting to fade.. im sure its not normal is it? i feed it a silverside every 3 days since i got it.. im gonna try to do a half of one every day to see if that would "brighten" it back up? its open all the way and everything just losing a bit of color.. i have 265watts ( pc ) .. i have heard of them doing fine under this light and the guy i got it from even had it under the light a few yrs ago.. any suggestions?

well i dont know whats up about the fading but for feeding u dont have to feed that much!
think about it ,in the wild witha all the currents what are the chanses of a full or even a half of a dead fish just landing into the tenticles of the anemone and even though it can happen for sure its not going to happen often like uve been feeding so when u feed the silversides u will see ur anemone throw up a ball of nastyness! this happens hours after u feed so u might not see it but they dont keep all of this!

I would slow down on the feeding as youa re going to stress the anenome. As for hom losing color, I would say lack of light. How far up in the tank is he? Am I right to assume this is a 75 gallon with 260 watts of PC lighting? If so try to get him to stay up higher in the tank. I have mine about 6 inches below th surface in my 75 with 440 watts of VHO and he is doing good. You may want to thing about upgrading your lighting.

he is almost on the very top rock in my tank can't really be up much higher.. i would also like to know why feeding every 3 days is bad?
