RBTA Questions

Hi guys I've been doing research and cant seem to find a answer to my question so now I'm here. I have had a BTA before so I'm some what familiar with them. Two weeks or so ago i got a RBTA and it looks amazing during the morning to mid day it looks perfect but near the end of my lighting cycle it deflates it tentacles. I have a 29g tank with sump. Its under a 20k MH light 150w. Haven't feed it yet. I'm doing a 10 hour light cycle now. Is that to long. Should I supplement my light with t-5s or something and cut back the light cycle. My water is in check. And I have a 950 gph power head in to. I normally have to 750gph koraillia's but they are broke. I'm sorry I don't have a pics as of now. Thanks Mike.

Mine does that all the time. Towards the end of the lighting cycle, it'll deflate and shrivel up behind the rock it's on. It's perfectly normal for it to do that. I wouldn't supplement anymore lighting, maybe just cut back to 6-7 hours.

Ok well I trust you guys. I'll cut my lighting back As far as flow goes it settled down right were my old one was and my snowflake clown went right to it. He is pretty small. But the lady I bought it from said point a power head right at it. Does anyone really do that. I mean in such a small tank he should be getting enough flow no matter what correct?

Mine doesn't like direct flow, but definitely wants tentacles waving. Even if you did follow that advice, if it doesn't like it, it will move to a new location.

Well update for the day some of the tentacles look pinched/ curled up. Some stay deflated and some don't. My girlfriend said it has lost some color since I placed it in the tank. I feed it today ate it not a problem. Sorry this is the pride of my tank. Could my clown be loving it to much should I place him in my fuge till it starts to look better. Thanks Mike

That light could be a touch strong depending on nem location.
You could use screen or eggcrate to shield and acclimate it.
Tank params would be nice to see.

Ok I take back that my water is in check. Working on my p.h. and phosphates.

P.H. 7.8
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-0
Ammonia-0
Calc-440
Phosphates-.25
K.H. 125-143 7-8

Also I'll put some egg crate on my tank thanks for all the help and any more help.

Also nem is low in the tank off center 10 inches from light it has moved up the rocks and looks some what spread out. It came out of a tank with mh lighting but the holding tank was t-5 that it was in for a few months

Sorry for the delay. I'm using egg crate, turned off one power head, and shortened my lighting cycle. Here a link to the pic's like i said if you look real close the tentacles look like they are tied in knots and I believe two or more short pieces have feel off. Please Help Mike

To me, he looks ok. He's attached to a rock and he's not bleached or anything. I would give it a few more weeks and keep feeding it every couple days to see if he looks any better.

Is it normal for it to loose color when adapting to its new tank? Also what about the tentacles looking twisted or pinched then every so often finding one is that normal to? I'm using gfo and water changes to help get my po4 down and made a quick fresh air source for my tank so im hoping to raise the p.h. also. whats best to feed him. The girl I bought it from she never feed them just squirted food there way every once in a while. I have silver sides are they better or just the same as shrimp. Sorry I don't mean to be a pain in everyone's side. But it looks nothing like it did to weeks ago and I know they start on the inside to deteriorate first and once they show outside signs its to late so I working my but off to keep it from getting worse and trying to nurse it back to its former self. Thanks Mike
