I will post a few more pics everday

Day 1

Funny that you posted this today. My RBTA just split last night for the first time. I can definately say that your RBTA's are splitting much cleaner than mine. Nice Pic.

It isn't a good sign when RBTA's split. It means that they are stressed out and have a better chance of survival as two anemones instead of one. Your case is understandable, because the RBTA is stressed from the new habitat. Keep up with the pics. I have never seen mine split, because both times they split overnight in a matter of hours. Are you sure yours is splitting? I thought mine was splitting when I first got it, but it never did.

I think they are splittling because it looks like it goes a little farther everyday and also they are growning tentacles going inward towards the mouth only from two side that divides the anemone almost perfectly in half.

I have had two anemones split into over 50 during the course of 3 years. All the little ones grew and did well. I don't think that splitting was due to stress; rather it was a sign of prosperity.

Trust me, yours isn't splitting. If they do split, it happens overnight. Maybe your anemone was getting ready to split before you got it. The change in environment has probably stopped the split.

Just drop the temp or SG or change the lighting for a few days. You can also cut them in 1/2. I'll be propagating mine that way, as soon as my extra tank is empty. Then it's RBTAs for everyone! I'll also be looking for some others to propogate.

Drew: All you have to do is feed the S*** out of them! Silversides do well, however KRILL is the main dessert for BTA's:) Splitting is not always good at all, check you water paramaters, also the should be Bubble Tipped, your's are too straight. Looks like they need much more flow IMO. Good luck.

I have been feeding them silver sides everyday and they moved in to more current so know they do have more bubble tipeed.
Thanks though
Also they are not splitting anymore, i bought them and they looked like they were getting ready to split but now they r not.

Feed Silversides once or twice a week tops, too much junk going into your tank otherwise. Use Krill every other day, they like it even more.

Racenrich-This project's taking longer than I expected. I had split one & had the 2 "youngins" in the tank--they were doing great. I'm using my 12g nano for this but then Arash sold everything off & I had to use it for extra corals. I added a huge rock I got & there was a really bad cyno outbreak. I don't know what happened but the 2 anemones dissappeared! Just totally gone! I still have 2 to work with but now I'm waiting till everything else is out of that tank, so I can devote it to propogation only. I'm setting up a 50g tank for all the extras from the nano. I'm also upgrading everything from my 55g main tank to a 90g. That frag swap is coming up, ya know, so I'll need room for more stuff! So as you see, I have a lot of irons in the fire...

Anemones mostly feed on good lighting. Solid food is a bonus & it actually is stressful to digest--especially large pieces of food. 1-2x/wk max.

I have at least 5 RBTAs for sale every month, without cutting them and without feeding them.

Dag, how are you getting so many? At IMAC, I went to Anthony Calfo's fragging seminar & he said it is fine to cut them in half every 2 weeks.
