RBTA vs powerhead any advice?

It doesn't look like it got too mangled but it's foot is still stuck between the grates. should I just leave it? Anything I can do to save it?

Is there a way you can push the foot out of the grate? Usually the grate will come off the powerhead. I would try pulling off the grate and see if you can push it out from the other side instead of pulling him out.

I put a sponge over my powerhead. Even though my RBTA still got stuck in the powerhead I think it saved him from being pureed.

A photo would help, but in general, if its not puree'd and shows some signs of life, it can recover. The BTA's are very hardy, however, if its obviously been chopped into a thousand pieces or just lays down and starts to turn to jello, it would be time to pull it and dispose.
