My control box is dead; it appears that the 2200 ufd, 450 v capacitor blew out (telltale signs, bulging case, smells bad and is squishy) and finding them is proving to be a challenge but on another note; this is just a 12 vdc pump, right? I don't expect that the control boxes are available any longer (are they?).

Is it possible to connect the pump to a 12 VDC supply and run it at full speed (or is it PWM and cannot be done using 12 VDC alone)?

I'd hate to discard the pump, it is very clean and spins easily with no signs if problems.

Suggestions?

Hey Ken, just now saw this, sorry for the late reply. I did have an extra laying around here about a year ago but I'm coming up empty on finding it now. I'll keep searching and if I do see it I'll certainly let you know.

I'm pretty sure it's PWM, thus such a large control box versus the other DC pumps on the market which are just 12VDC alone, but I'll confirm this and post back.

Ken,
Have you checked with Digikey? That would be the first place I would check as that is one of the component sources we use for that. Also, Future Electronics.
