Real Simple Question: Copper/Substrates

When using Cupramine, will a thin layer of crushed coral (1/2 in) take up a lot of copper and throw off treatment?--keeping the ppm in the proper range?

I plan on testing daily.

That's about the way I looked at it as well.

I just thought that Cupramine had a better ability to stay in suspension as opposed to "sticking" to the substrate and dropping the ppm reading.

I used to use Coppersafe in tanks with crushed coral and dead coral skeletons. Yes, my copper level would drop a bit and I would always have to add more. But after a week or so I guess it absorbed all the copper it was going to and my levels stabilized.

Thanks to you both for the feedback....I was kind of hoping to hear that Boba. I hate having presumptions when asking a question. I try to be open if my assertion is wrong.

But I kind of thought that it would level out. I am stable at .4ppm and I am going to add a littttle more to bring it to a solid .5 for the duration (30 days + 1 week). I just didn't want to get a flushing drop from the substrate. I pulled the live rock and replaced it with fake plastic rock----Surprisingly, looks very nice =-) and real......
