Well i got my first camera (first at all)
Here my first picture :

Well my aquarium run with MH 20 000k (XM) and there quite new, so its too blue in real life too.
Image crop at 40%
EFS 18-55 kit lens...

I have a question, is there a way to not have a focus and get everything sharp ?
I know its sound stupid (or not?) But i would like to have no focus !

Try shooting in aperture priority mode (marked "Av" usually). A higher number like f12 or f16 will get you much more depth of field - more of the coral would appear in sharp focus.

Or, if you really want to get serious, try Manual mode. Set the aperture you want, then dial in the shutter speed to get the exposure you need. :D

I wish I would have kept my first picture out of the camera, it would have been laughable! Not a bad shot, I think you just need some more DOF in there.

Well its not "THE" first shot, i did the first shot on a miror to see me with the camera :p

Ok i did many shot (i don't know... 50?)

And this one is the most "on focused" i got
Im not sure if this one is with the AV but i think it is.
Perhaps if someone know how to get all setting of a picture, (raw) (i got lightroom) it would be cool

ISO 100 - 40 mm - f/14 - 1/.5sec
Here the full size ( 3888x2592 pixel )

It is been modify in photoshop a bit.
But the *** purple coloration style the same.

When i flash the color are wrong.
I try a White balance but the color is ... not correct after.
The best color i got is with the AWB mode (auto...)

And i would like to know why its not sharp !
(ok i sharped a bit in PS to look good but original isn't)

I used a cheap small macro tripod... and the camera is not moving so i guess with the good tripod the result will be the same.

Actualy i use the EF-S 18-55 Lens kit, do you think its the fault of the lense ?

Can you try either setting a custom WB or color-correct in PS? I think that would make a huge difference.

I try to do a WB with my camera (i took the sand as reference)

And the color are not correct when i use this white balance. so i used the default AWB mode light.

Here what it look when i took a shot

And i got so many problem with the ICC profil of each photo.

The camera use a different icc, photoshop use another one and i think Lightroom use another one...

Ok ive got very big problem of color with my screen and photoshop.

When i open photoshop the blue is purple and green is more flashy.
The icc profil is sRGB in PS:CS2

Yeah those thing is not mine, someone give so i could pratice with that and give me my own idea.

I know its not that good... well i don't have a real macro.
But im sure of one thing.
In 1 week i could see the difference quality.
So i beleive i will have the perfect shot in around april lol...

No seriously i could see a big difference by using diffent lense.
Its all about lense and the photographer and... the subject :bum:
