Recalibrating the temperature probe

My temperature probe is approximately 6 months old and has recently begun to indicate water temperature +0.5C more than the water temperature identified by the Pinpoint monitor and checked with a glass thermometer.

The probe has been cleaned in case there was any attachment that might influence the temperature.

How do I go about adjusting the P3e in order to read the correct temperature, please?

The p3 never needs calibrating, the probes do not go off. Pinpoint has an accuracy range of +/- 1 degree so based on this alone it makes the p3 more accurate.

There is not known one case of an innacurate profilux temp sensor, they are claibrated to laboratory standards. so I would air on caution changing anything, but up to you. A pinpint temp unit is cheaper than a GHL temp probe, I guess up to you what you would prefer to trust.

^ Well, something is weird ... the Pinpoint and the glass lab thermometer are pretty much the same and the Profilux reading is consistently higher than both. I'm used to surfing in tropical water and when the Profilux is telling me that the water temp is 28C ... 3C over the ambient air conditioned room temperature (LED lights & no major internal pumps), it just doesn't feel that warm.

Mind you, 0.5C measurement difference of the water is nothing to worry about ... I'll just return the settings to default.

You have to do what you feel is best for you, all I can say with certainty is that GHL has never yet proved to have a genuineissue with tamperature being out UNLESS -

The ADC values have been changed by the front board or rear board being switched out. One of the biggest reasons the P3 upgrade kit was withrawn was due to people not writing down their ADC values prior to ipgrade, once they are lost you have lost the accuracy of profilux temp control.

Pinpoint - I have seen these units read up to 2 degrees out, and varying degrees of accuracy on glass lab thermometers.

From our support records we do not have one case of GHL being proved to be innacurate, so we have to go on that. But of course do what you feel is most comfortable for you.
