Today i received 2 small colt corals from petsolutions, one of them looks great but the other one was fragged drastically. I was shocked that they would frag peices from my purchase, you can see its fresh cuts.
At least 8 "arms" were cut off, clean cuts.
The coral seems to be in ok shape but can this be bad for it? I mean to be fragged and then shipped out being in a shipping box for 20 hours??
Is it severely stressed? Should i email them about this? I just dont think its right to frag my purchase lol
heres a pic, you can see the white areas, those are the cuts. Hard to see the details, my camera isnt that great

Looks fine, in a month you'll be fragging it yourself. Those guys under pristine conditions will take over your tank fast. I have to cut and toss pieces more than my chaeto.

I finally had to get mine out of the tank. It started dropping babies and taking over my tank. The mother colony has been gone for about a month but I'm still finding frags popping out from hiding places.

YIKES! i didnt know they can take over that bad, gee and i have three of them lol
2 small ones that arrived yesterday and a huge one i have thats only a few months old and quite large allready.
so basically in the end i'll have a colt coral tank? maybe thats not so bad...well i dunno lol

ooo i hope their not like xenia, taking over then just dying for no reason? I had that happen in my smaller tank. I bought one small xenia colony, it took over half my tank, even on the glass walls, then it just started shrinking and disapearing until it was gone..very weird
