Received my new Blueline with a large bulge on his left side. Please help

I just got him and he has a lump on his left side the size of a dime or smaller. Hes acting normal and acclimating as i type but that lump has me very worried. I already contacted the vendor and made them aware. Im gonna post a pic...

I need opinions as to what this could be!!! A gas? Broken bone? Im worried about putting him in with my personifer whos doing awesome.

I had something similar with my blueline (smaller than yours), however the bulge was much smaller. It would come and go, but after several weeks of cupramine and prazipro it was gone for good.

I'm not sure of the cause, or if my medications were the cure, but I'd definitely recommend Prazipro at the least.

i wonder if the place u got him from knew about this before they shipped him,figure if he was overnighted they would have had to of noticed it

The vendor said the fish was fine when he shipped him yesterday so im thinking injury or some type or air/gas problem during shipping. This fish was kept separate according to the vendor and was monitored and this bulge was not observed.

Hes in qt now and all he wants to do is lay against the rocks. This sucks.

I had the same issue with a scribbled angel, looked exactly like that. Eventually the fish died and I did a dissection, when I poked the area with a knife it released air and the tissue went flat again. I didnt get a lot more into it, but when I pulled the meat back there was no obvious damage inside, no broken bones or anything like that. It seemed like maybe there was a bacteria inside putting off a gas or something? Hard to say, but mine was definitely a gas buildup problem, between the organs and the muscle, it's not just right under the skin.

Is the vendor standing behind the fish? That is guarantee? Also, how and where was it collected?

Yes, the vendor and I have been communicating and he is standing behind his fish. I bought him from NYaquatic and am very happy with the service im receiving. Its a fish and stuff happens. It was packed well but I think it may have been injured during shipping.

I dont think hes gonna make it since i found him barely breathing and sucked up against a maxijet. This is why the guarantees are so important.

Snorvich, i asked Michael about their collection locations and he only gets bluelines from Taiwan. I believe their collection methods are more fish friendly than those from Vietnam.

Well the fish did not make it. I contacted NYaquatic and hes shipping me the smallest blueline he has tomorrow as a replacement. Sucks to lose a fish like that but this little guy looked doomed from the moment i opened the box. Im just happy they are backing their guarantee as promised.
