Recent Foster and Smith order:)

I don't know if this was a mistake, but I ordered lights from Foster and Smith recently ((2)-24" VHO's, (2)-48" VHO's and (2)-62" VHO's). They shipped them in three different packages and only charged a total of $14.99 for shipping (according to the packing lists). I expected at least $30 for shipping, as is the case with most places when it comes to bulbs. Then with three separate shipments, I expected more. I'm pretty happy about that:). I guess I need to check the account to see if that is all that was actually charged before I get too happy...

drsfostersmith only charges shipping for what you spend. I did a order recently and it came in 3 seperate boxes with 3 seperate shipping labels. I got 3 tracking numbers but only one shipping charge.

that is probably correct. I recently ordered the Sedona 75 gallon stand and canopy and a huge bucket of salt and they only charged me 14.99 for the whole shipment. I called and they told me that 14.99 is thier maximum shipment charge since they do not charge by weight but by value of the shipment. You can imagine my excitement when I found out that heavy piece of furniture was only 14.99 to ship. Elsewhere the shipping on a simular object was closer to 75.00. On top of that , the very same stand was 849.00 at the LFS and it was 399.00 at Foster and Smith. I now look at thier catalog first when I need anything .

I just did an order 2-3 weeks ago. Total was around $300. Shipping was $17.99 for 4 seperate pieces. 3 of those were 160 gallon/50lb buckets of IO. Each bucket basically added $1 to shipping. 2nd time I've done this. You shouldn't need to worry.

I order from them and if something is back-ordered they will ship what they have and they won't charge you extra to ship the item when it comes it. Not too bad.

I've never bought livestock online as I like to look at what I'm getting. Plus I need to give the LFS some business or I won't have anywhere to look for the next thing I can't live without.

As online buying become more popular for just about everything, I think we are going to see a serious drop in shipping charges. The thing that hurts about online buying is the hidden cost of shipping (you see something in a store for $50, you see it online for $30 plus $15 shipping plus waiting 3-4 days to get it). I'll have to store this in the memory bank (which usually runs on credit). Sounds like a good deal Gary.

I just placed an order on manday that was $300 & 5 of the items were over 40lbs each According to the tracking #s im getting 7 boxes in all & the first arrived today & the rest are supposed to be here tomorrow & all they charged me was $17 total in shipping to. I just wished they carried some of the more highend stuff like tunzees & what not. There still my fav online retailer. What ever happened to the discount code we was supposed to get from the frag swap.

I just placed an order on manday.....

What day is Manday? I need to inform my wife.

It just seems like the last time I ordered bulbs, there was a larger shipping charge because it takes more room, so it costs more to ship... Any other place I've ordwered bulbs from cahrges a premium (even though they don't apply the charge at checkout, but tack it on later without any warning). I'll take it:).

About The Shipping code...I just placed my order the other day I actually called told her about the deiscount $5.00 and she talked to her manager and gave it to me... No problems whatso ever!
