I have made a few DIY skimmers that worked pretty good, but a 2 litter bottle and a pump is really funny.

Really? What size system? I just don't see that bottle holding up after years of salt water. I have seen plastic bottles at the beach that are brittle like dried up leaves.

Thats due to the UV rays and heat of the sun . The 2 litre and 3 method for super cheap DIY is out dated now. Its all about using road cones .
