Recommend a UPS to run a Tunze 6105

Have asked this question a few times on RC but haven't received a definitive answer yet so hoping Roger might have the answer. I want a UPS system that will run a Tunze 6105 for as long as possible (minimum 8 hours) in case of power outage. I have 2 generators so that isn't a problem but I want some protection against an outage when I'm not at home or sleeping.

There was a thread in the Large Tanks forum recently where a member lost a lot of fish due to a power issue overnight and I'd like to avoid that. I've been told the UPS needs to be a true sine wave UPS or something.

Any ideas?

I would just get the 6105.500 Safety Connector and a large battery, as a general rule the number of amp hours of the 12V battery is the number of hours the pump will run since the draw is roughly 1 Amp at 12V. At 12V the pump will produce a maximum of about 2000 gph.

A 12v battery is like a standard car battery? Sorry, clueless. :D

So how long will a 12v battery run a Tunze at 2000gph?

You just need a small gel cell battery like the type that they use for back up power on home alarms, You can buy a 8Ah battery at most battery/electronics stores, 15Ah is another common size.
