Recommendations for centerpiece fish?

I couldn't agree more. Wait, what are we talking about? I had to learn to crawl before I could walk. AND that included studying local aquariums. Then basically I just try to replicate as precisely as possible the exact components of the ocean, in a closed system. Than again, I may just be a complete idiot that is getting lucky with Genus names. Who knows, i'm banking on the idiot part.

Now the sooner that people take their foot off my head, and realize that I am in fact here to help - and stop trying to "outwit" me.......the better we will all be. I know several of people who have all ready taken a step back and emailed me with multiple questions, then 10's followed them. I never said or even implied that I was smarter. I merely said that I was here to help. Which is the fact. I don't want to see things die, and I want to help people get the best for their money.......plus I want to see people succeed. Have any of my 20 something posts proven otherwise? Outside of people that automatically began bashing me? Or my quick responses in the same demeanor that I was spoken to?

Dan,

How about one of the less common rabbitfish?
( Siganus sp. )

Wow! I also know the genus names, guess that makes me
a Marine Biologist too!

Or maybe I just have some good reference books.

I have a Rabbit fish, not really that spectacular. Nice and friendly but not spectacular.

Anything "spectacular" wil cost mucho $$$$$...If you want something very nice and relatively inexpensive, go to seascape and buy the ultra male Blue Throat Trigger (Xanthichthys auromarginatus) they have. Perfect size to start out with.

is cognitio profundus intro huc...............
meus ammonitus eccam "naso lituratus"
mea eccam formonsus

Dang Chris, you speak fluent latin. I wish I knew what that meant.

Dan, with your budget not being unlimited, I would suggest something less expensive with briliant colors. I prefer fairy wrasses, or maybe 4 lyrtail Anthias. I have a couple of lyretails and they are awsome, they are also quite hardy and grow very nicely. My male is about 3" and is a very pinkish color. I have a pic of him in my gallery.

My biggest tank is three thousand seven-hundred gallons. I thought you knew that already though? I was sure I told you somewhere along the line. About the jacks under the floor boards and cutting out the drywall and what not to get it in.

I think I finally found a buyer for it in Wyoming though.

When I went to college for a little bit I took some marine biology courses at University of Washington. Never ever did they talk about aquariums and the hobby. It was all about the ocean and science. All places are different and I did not go that long, but I know some firends that are in Seattle with Marine biology degrees and they don't work for pet stores for minuim wage.

BTW Other Dan, lol, I like the idea of numerous small fish. Espically fairy wrasses.

I like rabbitfish, but it's not what I was thinking of.
Lyretail anthias are good ideas. They've been on my list from the beginning.
Chris, Is that legal with a naso?
Bluejaw trigger--the only "reef safe" trigger. Hmm.......definitely a nice looking fish. What were they asking?
I'm still trying to get availability and prices on 4 different fairy wrasses--Scott's, exquisite, ruby head, velvet multicolor.

Who knows, I may just see something in a LFS that grabs me.

Dan, I think he was saying he helps the LFS for free.

Anyway, I don't know how many fairy wrasses you can have in a 125. My guess is just one, or a mated pair. If I could have multiples I'd fill the tank with them!
