Got a noisy 1HP old chiller from an Italian company (Don't remember name) under my Kitchen table producing a whole lot of heat. Girlfriend is getting really tired of it especially around 2PM in the middle of the day when the AC is having a hard time keeping the house cool.

Any recommendations on Brand? Looking for low noise and great support.

Thanks

I got a JBJ Arctica Chiller 1⁄3 HP for sale - $300 located in Orlando if you interested.

According to JBJ, 180g need 1/5 HP, 1/4 HP support 260g, and 1/3 HP support 340 g tank.

How old?
Got Pics?
How Loud? Can you hear it while talking or watchign TV or is it low background noise?
Would you ship?

Sorry no shipping (heavy and fragile item).

I have it for 3 years, ran for more than a year, and on the shelf for more than a year now (I converted to LED). When running, its noise level is about as of a table fan, more of a humming noise.

I bought a half dozen different used (1 was new from Ebay) chillers, had bad luck with all of them.
It was not easy for me to do, but I bit the bullet and bought a brand spanking new chiller from Teco USA.
My system is a bit larger than yours, and I did buy bigger than I had to and with shipping (freight), I dropped like $1,700.
It runs quiet, chills and heats, maintains temp to within ONE degree and I could add a UV light to it, if I want to.
You could get away with spending much less on one of their smaller units.
As far as heat output, the heat removed from your tank has to go somewhere. Any chiller will add that heat to the space the unit is in.

Thanks DGen, that's what I have a Teco but this thing is ancient. Had extremely incredible customer service when ever I called them. Can I ask what model you bought?

I bought the TR-30. WAY overkill for my 500 gallon system. It runs for less than 2 mins at a time to bring the temp down one degree.
The TR-20 would probably have been perfect for me.
Prices have gone up since I got mine, I remember a hair over $17,000 including freight and optional heater.
