Recommended lighting times

I know this is a topic that usually fuels a lot of discussion fires, but what the heck. In my 55 Reef, what would be the recommended lighting times? I run 2x65 actinics and 2x65 daylights on the tank, and am curious as to how long they should be running in everyones professional, (or not) opinions.

12 on 12 off is what i hear the most but i run mine 14 on and 10 off.

Need more info: what do you keep, hows your algea? problem or not, how old are the bulbs and so on
