Recommended Stream Settings

Roger,

I just received my two 6000 streams and multi-controller and look forward to setting them up this week. These are going in my 110 gallon barebottom SPS reef tank.

One question: What is the optimal setting for the streams? I know there are numerous possibilities given with the multi-controller. Could you recommend a starting point for me? With the BB, I would like to keep detritus in suspension and off the tanks floor as much as possible. I will siphon out whatever else is left behind.

BTW - they will be located at opposite ends of my 5' tank, 4" below the water surface.

As always, Thanks!!
Fred

Position them in the back corners aimed to the front 1/3rd of the way in from the ends they are mounted on. Use tide mode and plug one pump into the first socket and one in the last. If you have it set up right the interval light will come on. Set a 3-6hr interval. Set a 3sec pulse and set your pulses at 30% and 100%

Roger,

When you say back corners, do you mean on the back wall of the tank, inboard of the corner overflows? I was going to mount them with Tunze magnets on opposite ends of the tank.

Fred

You can do it in front of the overflows, the idea is to get a swirling pattern deflected off the front pane to maximize the spread and reduce the force. The pump should be able to be swiveled sufficiently to hit the front glass from the side wall.
