Recommended time in AM for Transfer? 6am, 7am, 8am, 10am?

Not to hijack the this tgread, but what's the minimum number of hours? I'd like to shoot for somewhere in the middle personally :)

there is no minimum, it just needs to add up to 12 or more days. you could do transfers every hour for 12 straight days and would end with a positive result, except for a dead fish due to stress :uzi:

But seriously, you could do every day and be ok, it is just a lot of work to do that.

i do my transfers at 5:30am. it doesnt matter what time of day you do them as long as you dont go over 75 hours between each. you just catch more parasites that recently jumped off the fish when doing the transfers in the morning. regardless, given the life cycle stage we are combating with TTM is the cyst/Tomite stage, no matter what time of day they form the cyst, they will spend 72 hours minimum in the cyst; and you would have done a transfer in that period anyway.

1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1x1 or 2x2x2x2x2x2 or 3x3x3x3 all work equally well. Just be mindful of the 75 hours.

If I transfer the fish in the morning each time at 9AM, thats about 72 hours. Is that okay?
Also does the timing of the lights on/off for the tank make a difference? for example I have it that the lights come on from 4PM till 11Pm. does that make a difference as to what time is best for the transfer?

all that matters is the 72 hours part. time of day is irrelevant. and lighting schedule plays no part. the cysts take at least 72 hours to hatch which is why we choose 72 hours maximum for transfers.

Snorvich, what's been your experience with ICH if treatment was unsuccessful? How long in in a non treated tank will it take ICH to appear once again?
