Recycling Sand?

So I'm shutting down my 29g and I have about 25 lbs of crushed coral that I would like to reuse in my 58g. It's pretty dingy and rinsing it with hot water isn't getting it as clean as I would like it. Anything I can safely use to bring the white back without hurting the system? I know buying new sand would be easier but the LFS didn't have what I wanted and not using what I have seems like a waste.

You have to wash it. Stick a hose in the bucket at the bottom and the pressure will push all of the "nasty" upwards and out of the buckets while the sand will just fall back to the bottom. It'll look brand new if you do it long enough.

You could do a quick dip of chlorine or vinegar to "etch" (clean) the surface gunk.

Just make sure not to leave it too long or you'll just dissolve everything.
