Red Acro

I am looking for the reddest of red acros. I use to have the Erics red stag and loved it but I can't find any more frags of it. I have found the Ultimate's Ultimate Red acro, the Red robin acro, Tyree Hell Fire acro. My question is what is the reddest acro of the ones listed or another that I can get?

How's this?

Aussie piece got it from DD, the other half of it was still online the other week, and it's a fast grower.

Don't count out Red Planet.

I have seen alot of corals over the years

never a red red one ... its either redish pink, or light red ...

It's really hard to accurately represent colours online. Between photographing your tank (white balance), different bulbs, calibrating your monitor, whether or not others have calibrated monitors, or are even using quality IPS panels.. I find it's better not to split hairs on what a "true" colour is. It's not like we are holding up pantone chip to the coral as we take photos.. There are so many shades of a single colour.

...all the reds..

First one looks like what many of us call "orange" in reef tanks.. it's all just a mess ha.

I simply posted what I have seen or rather not seen.

and not basin it on online pics.

its okay for opinions or observations to be different. noone is spliting hairs.

Agree'd I just think it's funny. I got into this discussion with a friend of mine just the other nite on whether it's an "ORANGE Cap, or a Red Cap".

I think we should create our own colour classification for corals. That's not Red! It's Nautical Fuchsia

If you want true red corals you gotta use lower kelvin bulbs IME. I have a pocci that is RED under 10k, it is fairly red under 20k. The only coral I've had that was red under any lights is a chili coral.

I actually have all of the acros you listed. Eric's red stag is definitely the reddest of them all but it isn't a stag. For me it has a growth form very similar to the Red Planet. Ultimate's red acro is similar, if not the same as the red robin acro. The Tyree Hell Fire acro is an insane pink under my 400w Radiums but no red.

soo nice, I just got a wild version of this I'm hoping it holds similar colours, what's your placement?

Thanks, I actually have 3 colonies spread out all over the tank from the to to bottom. They all have identical color so I don't think placement is critical. That particular colony is lower in the tank under 400w Radiums.

for me the "reddest" red is cherry red and the strawberry shortcake gets that color even though its not entirely red. the tri-color prostrata has a metallic red colored body similar to the bright fluorescent color of a spath's radial corallites
