red brittle star " good or bad"

We have one and he has grown quite a bit. He is around 7" to 9" across tip to tip. And we are having fish missing and can't find them or remains. I was told that they eat fish. So I would like to hear from everyone to see if we need to move him.

is it a brittle (spikes) or a serpent (smooth)???

big stars are known to grab sleeping fishes at night, mostly big green brittles though.

the red one is has spikes. and we have two serpent stars that are smooth and are light brown with black to dark brown spots.

I haven't heard of red brittles killing fish could be possiable,but the greens defiantly will kill fish.

I have mini brittle stars that do not get big enough to eat fish. You are welcome to some if you want any.
