Splitting pills
The issue of splitting heartworm pills comes up frequently. I have spoken to representatives from Merial (maker of Heartgard) and Novartis (maker of Interceptor). Both said that the active ingredients are mixed into their products before the pills are formed, and therefore should be evenly distributed (though they cannot guarantee this). However, both manufacturers advise against pill splitting.

Splitting pills is inexact and may result in the patient or dog or acropora LOL getting less or more of the medication. If you do decide to split the pills, use a pill splitter (available at any drug store)
So yes your assumption is 100% correct but from the pharmacokinetics standpoint( what the drug does to the body) its truly impossible to determine that.
And yes this is way to technical I don't believe that it makes any difference-but since u are knowledgeable and anal about reefkeeping ( after all it was u that made me count my reactor effluent with a metered shot glass) LOL
I thought I'd share this with you .
BTW thanks for your input over the year.

Well, for better or worse, the interceptor is in my tank now. It was crushed very fine and dissolved ok but there were still some very, very small pieces. My anthias actually tried to eat them and spit them out:eek2: Hope that is ok.

Cant wait to see the polyps actually extended on these 3 frags. My camera is crap de la crap but i'll try and get some pics if they actually open for me.

Almost 2 hours in. No polyp extension yet but everything looks normal except my rics are shaped a little weird:confused:

I can still see the bugs but no movement from them. There is a few small strands of slime that look like they have dead bugs attached so it seems to be working. I did see a HUGE dead pod floating in the tank which my lieutenant tang snatched up and ate.

My poor little acro crab didnt make it though. I saw him acting weird, twitching and then fall out of the acro dead. Poor little guy, he was cool:( RIP buddy My luck, my stupid peppermint shrimp will survive though!

4 hour mark now.

1 of my peppermints came twitching out of the rocks and died a minute ago. Havent seen the others.

Only saw the 1 dead pod get eaten and 1 more body in the sump. Cant see any other dead ones but looked in the fuge for about 10 minutes and couldnt see any sign of a live pod. Hopefully, there are a few tucked away somewhere. I may run to reef life and see if they have any seeding powder.

2 of the 3 acros seem like they have no bugs at all on them. The 3rd still has a few but they dont seem to be moving and you can definitely see them being blow off by the mighty Tunzes:D No polyp extension yet, but they seem to be close to 100% bug free.

Yep, just finished the water change a little while ago. Tank is back up and running with a ton of carbon in the sump. Hopefully, i am in the clear now!

The 3 acros look completely clear of bugs. There were still a few after 6 hours but a few squirts from the turkey baster blew them off. No polyp extension from them yet but they seem 100% bug free!

I can't find the 2nd peppermint but every other crustacean in the tank seems to have died.

The bottom of my fuge looks like the end of the 1st battle scene in Braveheart, except with pods:eek2: Only was able to find 1 pod that was still moving around.
