Red bugs worth the trouble?

so when I got home last night I looked for red bugs and could not see a single one on any of the previously known infested acros. could not find my purple lobster, and still observed many pods in my fuge I couldnt really tell if the numbers went down but it seemed like they were for the most part unaffected by the treatment. but I am happy to announce that all traces of red bugs are gone!! PE on my acros seemed to be the same as it was before maybe a little better, I performed a 10% water change and also turned my skimmer back on and put filter media back into the sump. I am planning on doing another treatment in a week just to make sure I got all of them. seems as though this stuff really works it took my system a little longer to get them but i am happy with the results and would recommend anyone use this! especially because my pod population is still thriving and that what I was mainly worried about.

Tuesday of this week I completed round 2 of interceptor for red bugs. Followed all the guidance provided on reef central and everything went perfectly. I removed both fire shrimp, hermits, and snails. I was concerned that all my baby brittle stars and baby Trochus snails (the ones too small to catch) would be killed, but they both seemed to do just fine.

Between round 1 and 2 I only used fresh carbon with no water change. At the end of round 2 I did both fresh carbon and a 10% water change. Put back all my shrimp, crabs, and snails the following day and everyone seems very happy. It is nice to see my PE on the few most badly infected corals. The red bugs definitely seem to prefer certain corals.

I have a 40B and used 1/8 of a Large Dog Interceptor pill. BTW, I used plain Interceptor and not Interceptor Spectrum. Seemed to be very effective. No red bugs were visible after round 1. Amphipod crustaceans and bristle worms also survived the treatment. Interesting on how it kills red bugs but not amphipods.

I always notice my corals have a bit more increased PE right after dosing interceptor, but only for a few days, I think it has something to do with the beef flavoring, but who knows?

Is carbon necessary after treatment? I don't currently use carbon and don't want to purchase a reactor just for this....

Alot of people using this for sps issues but I was looking into interceptor for lps receding back and dying off many have been using it since 2007 for treating a parasite that bothers acans chalices lobos favias.... With great results too it seems
