Are the red bugs an issue with SPS or for all corals

Red Bugs only affect Acros and will die in a tank where there are none.

I have a thing about these bugs and I want to get them out once and for all but I THOUGHT I DID THAT!!! :mad2:

Scott, Mandy has gained weight but she will not tolerate another treatment so when I do it I will bring her over. She needs a nice boyfriend anyway. She would prolly appreciate a vacation in your frag tank to gain even more weight before going in the main tank.

Sorry to hear folks ! You know my stance. I get better than average color and good growth with better than average PE so they are staying the advantages of interceptor are outweighed when it comes to my tanks chemistry and balance .I don't want to disturb any of those . That way when I have problems I can eliminate the possibility of it being from interceptor treatments.

I am setting up a new tank. I have two pieces of SPS now. If I move all my sand, LR and fish to the new tank and leave the SPS in the old tank, will the red bugs all die in the new tank.? I could then treat the old tank for redbugs and when they are dead move the SPS to the new tank. I only have two frags of acro so no big loss at this point. I will keep a Q. Tank up and treat all new acro for redbugs before going in the new large tank. What do you all think of this plan?

The plan is solid. You must make certain that NO tiny sliver of Acro makes it into the new tank.
