well, I just saw another one of those Bast@#$#$ :mad2: I just made a solution of 1.5 pills 6 x the recommended dosage. One of the pills is from another interceptor batch and date code.

dose anyone want some free SPS???

yep, this is the 6th time for the whole tank.

I sure hope it is a bad batch of interceptor.

wow... I treated my 210 3x using a whole pill each time and got rid of them.. also all crabs and shrimp...I believe a whole pill does 380 gallons and me overdosing caused no ill effects

ReefArtist, it is looking very good. Corals are slimming up and my wrass is having a smorgusborg on all the dead pods floating around.

How do I go back to my vet and tell them they gave me a boguss batch of interceptor.

You just eat it like I normally end up doing . All that wasted time and work you put into trying to get rid of them - that's the shame of it all!

BTW - how's your new guys doing and did you find the other one?

reefartist they are doing great. I have just seen the one but the other crawled up into the rock. I here them popping all the time.

Man... I cant believe you are still fighting those bugs. Hopefully this will be the last treatment you have to do. I will definately be dipping and qting everything after seeing what you have had to go through. Good luck

TTRex94 I am going to treat the bugs like it is my 1st treatment. I will do 2 more after this one.

I picked up a couple of randell pistal shrimps and a white ray golby. They are in a little QT tank.

Hope everything works out for you, sounds like it was the first set of pills. I am still crossing my fingers after having a lot of SPS corals that I purchased were needing treatment because of red bugs. Went thru QT for a month and all looks well in my main system, Good Luck.... I would say Yes to the free SPS Frags but they are probly the same ones I have.

Status.....Looks like I need to treat the 120 but I have 7 clams and need to find out about treating with them in or out of the tank.

Is it okay to setup up a QT setup plumbed from your main system??
I was reading on another forum and someone was conducting this, so I asked about it, everyone jumped in and said its best to be done like that. Is this true??

Well I beleive that you would not be able to treat the livestock fish/coral in the QT tank if it was plumbed with your display system, but I have mine plumbed with it. If I put anything in QT I turn a ball valve and the water now dosen't flow in with the dispay water. Then I add a biowheel at that point to filter the water in the QT tank. after the Quarentein if I have any problems and I had to treat anything I pull all the water out of the QT tank and put new fresh saltwater in the QT tank before turning the ball valve again so the water that was in the QT tank all gets replaced before circulatiing it through the main system again.

That is what I do don't know if anybody else does that or not.

I personally wouldnt connect the 2. Say you had to treat for ich and used coppersafe. It stays in the tank even after draining and rinsing the tank. If you were to run the qt on your system the copper can leach into your main tank and harm corals.
