i just put t-5 lights on a 55 gal tank. i got some red cap and and the edgeds are like a white a do the like a lot of light or is the 6 bulbs to bright for that type of coral.

The white edges could be growth. Especially is the rest of the cap is still its original color.

Since you just changed your lighting, you may want to decrease the time they are on for a while and slowly bring it back up to normal.

When I do a major light change I usually knock off about 4 hours, then slowly bring it back up over a 2 week period.

yesterday it had white like small ares of white dots that are getting bigger.
