We have recently added a large (7inches) Wrasse to our tank. We made sure he has lots of toys, like rubble and empty shells to play with. So far he has not bothered any of the corals.
We have a maron clown that was the bully of the tank, that has changed. We noticed on work days, we would not see the wrasse at all, he woudl already be buried by the time we get home.
Or Red Coris Wrasse is a creature of the morning.
He wakes as soon as the moonlights are off, and prowls for crabs. (He has not bothered any sanils yet). about two hours about 2 hours after the MH are full he goes tothe sand fora nap. An hour or two later he will come out of the sand for more crab hunting, and messing with the clown. He is ususally buried for the night by about 4pm every day.
We usually wake him up to ensure he gets fed, some folks have said it's a bad thing to wake them up. He seems not to be affected by being woke up, as he eats like a pig. About 2 hours after feeding he's back inthe sand for the night.
We have had hin 2 weeks.
What do you Wrasse expereinced folks think?
1) Will this wrasse get trained to the feeding schedule?
2) Is it bad to wake hin to get fed?
3) Does this Wrasse spend too much time in the sand?
4) What is the best meat to feed the wrase?
(ours will not take Krill, but does eat mysis)
(What about ocan planton?)
Thanks in advance for all your help.
