Red Doreensis

As incredible as it may sound, this clam look even better than this in real life. I am sure as soon as he recover from stress and expanded more, he will look lighter. I hope not too much lighter.

Doing good with no treatment

Can you tell us a little about your quarantine system? What kind of light will be sufficient to keep an anemone happy in quarantine?

Thanks everybody. I am really happy with this purchase

I have a 30 W Flood LED light, 14,000K. It is really bright light and give very accurate color for my camera. I can also put a Radion on this tank if I want to keep that anemone in there long term. Short term, this light is enough to keep animal from bleaching.
I got this light on eBay several years ago for this purpose and have been happy with it.
My QT is a 20 gal high. I will see if I can take picture of the contraption I build to put the light on. Very simple really.
I have a Vortech MP10 for circulation and a digital Finnex temperature controller with a separate heater element. Sometime, I also put a air stone in it if I think is needed. I will take picture of the light this weekend. The picture of my HT is around somewhere.

Here is the picture of the top of my HT. The notched out will fit either my HT light of a Radion. That is my HT light. It actually 20 Watt. I got it so long ago, I forgot and though it was higher. Still plenty of light for short term use

I had a red LTA just that color for several years. Unfortunately when I was out of town the heater raised the temperature to the 90s in the tank. I was devastated. I kept it along with a tomato clown in a 15 gallon tank for years. It was a male and spawned regularly. I kept it under two 55 watt compact PCs (this was over 10 years ago) and it did great. I kept in in about 5 inches of fine aragonite sand inside a 5 inch wide PVC piped that was capped at the bottom.

I hope yours does well. I would suggest you get it some sand into a tupperware/other inert container, so it can dig in. I can only imagine an LTA that isn't dug in will not be happy.

Thanks. I got him into my refugium/Frag-tank which is part of my DT system. He is doing OK but not dug in yet. By this weekend if he still not dig in, I will have to dig a hole for him and block him in there

foot planted and happy. I did not have to mess with him. Ate a little yesterday. I will start to feed him well in the next few days. Need to give him energy to deal with the stress of capture and repair any damage and build up reserve energy. I also like for him to grow a little.

Went on vacation for 1 week. Just got back last night. The tank look only slightly off but everything OK. My Red Doreensis stay attached all the way to the bottom glass of the tank. I fed him a small salmon piece last night and 1 cc piece this AM. He eat like a champ.

I think he is doing well and healthy. I will shift to recovery and growth phase of his care. He is only about 6 inches after all the stress and shipping. I like to get him to about 12-15 inches where he will be a show piece instead of a small anemone. Pictures later
