Came home to my skimmer shut off. When i plugged it back in the pump pulses and shuts off after a few seconds. Bearing issue or block issue ? The impeller magnetic is not lose and stuck to the shaft.

When I dissembled the pump the bearing O ring was lose and not seated down onto the bearing. The shaft pulled right out and spins freely on the bearing
I did soak everything in vinegar for 10 minutes and no luck

I replied to your post on the Facebook group too. Sounds (and looks based on the picture of the bearing) like the bearing calcified itself to the shaft which is why it was loose in the motor when you removed the impeller. If you got the bearing reinstalled properly and its still pulsing, then yes, you probably overloaded and killed the motor. It’s important that the bearing be insterted and seated properly into the bearing cavity before you put the impeller back in. If the bearing isn’t seated properly before you put the impeller back in, the impeller will bind up in the motor and can cause the symptoms you are describing but those are also the same symptoms of a dead motor. Take a look at post 2 which shows the proper installation of the bearing in the cavity. There is a groove inside the bearing cavity that the oring seats into.
