getting a little ahead of myself.. I'm looking for placement spots in my tank. I'd prefer it stay on the left side. However that ugly BTA is taking all the spots. that thing is huge.. 15+ inches. so I stacked a bunch of TBS live rocks on the corner. ugly rockscape for now, but best for the Gig. it can climb and stay at any light level. no powerhead on left side beside my Sea Swirl. If it stays on the left, I plan to buy a second Panta Rhei pump. The green gig loves the SS + Panta Rhei.

sorry for all blues. only Reefbrites on right now

Red Haddoni must have heard there's a new favorites in town. Moved to front center spot and stayed there. It had been hiding for 2 years..

When I first saw the picture I was thinking photo shop or dyed...
Wow is all I am going to say... Take good care of that...

Congratz..

Nice, the tentacles appear to be coloring up. Or at least the lighting and photos make it seem that way! When you do water changes, are you replacing with newly mixed water, or conditioned water from your DT?

Gorgeous red haddoni btw, I would not have let a gem like that simply hide in my tank for 2 years!:lmao:

Thanks!

During cipro treatment i use fresh made RODI.

I plan to use tank water after the Cipro treatment. So if all goes well day 8 is tank water.

Suggestions?

Thank you. I actually belong to that one but haven't noticed much in the way of non-BTA anemones.

That's where I saw the seller post the nem. If it was east coast I woulda drove to it and bought it. I didn't want to be the guy that killed the nem in shipping.

Lookin good m0nkie! I can't wait to see this thing settled in.

hmm... this morning the nem was fine. 100% water change. new Cipro. lights off.

came home and the nem is balled up. turned on the lights and it started opening up. It's still tightly attached to the tank. Mouth seems closed still. I don't see much expel. just a little black chunk. Mostly some light brown films coming off of their foot now.

I've had gigs ball up and they were fine afterwards. It was a rare occurrence and only happened in QT so at the time attributed it to the nem trying to expel waste or dead zoox (as if it was constipated). AFterwards the nems were fine.

Sloughing on the foot is completely normal.

Hopefully at this point, your gig is fully back to normal.

It balled up while under 100% darkness. I use a towel to wrap around the tank so it's completely dark for Cipro. I'll stop wrapping it now. with just a slit of light, it started perking up. Looks good after

3 more days to full 7

The tentacles see longer. That is great. Gigantea shrink up some at night, but not deflated.
Good luck. I think he is fine.

Looks pretty decent. I haven’t had luck with them once they started to ball up like you mentioned but that may just be my own bad luck. Really hope this one makes it to the display. Curious to see how it ends up looking. Almost has the coloration of those rainbow haddoni that pop up for sale sometimes.
