Red haddoni caught in powerhead

My red haddon was on the move today suddenly and it was letting the foot go. It was then sucked in the power head for maybe a couple of minutes . I turn of the power head immediately . Only the tentacles are a little damage . It was all deflated at first , but now it's a little better and mouth is not gaping. Water is a little cloudy. What should I do? I put it in the corner now with an eggcrate and separate it from the clowns.

your tank look fairly new, is it? also get some type of covering for your powerheads. most nems with the exception of BTA who are always on the move, seem to stay in one place if they are happy and their environment is meeting their needs

The nem is in my tank for 5 months already, but I replaced some new rocks 2 weeks ago and then it start moving around. Probably don't like the aquascape. It hasn't move an inch in the last 5 months with the old rock work.

I have one which is VERY sensitive to small increases in water flow which did the same thing. I turned up th flow from the circulation pumps ever so slightly to try and get rid of a small cyano patch and overnight the anemone let go and was sucked into a powerhead and had to be cut out (I cut the powerhead, not the anemone) It looked a lot worse than yours but now, two months later, you could never tell the damage had occurred.

Luckily it was sucked in the mp10 and not the mp40 and it was there just a couple of minutes. It was really scared to see it at first. My female clown was so angry at me and biting my hand constantly when I was releasing it from the powerhead. At first it was all deflated like a pancake , I thought it was dead. Was really in a panick

I think the damage is light and a healthy Haddoni would recover without problem. However, you really need to find out why your is not happy. That will be what will do your anemone in if your cannot find it and change it.

I've change the rock work where he was sitting all the time and probably he don't like the new rock work.

I would say more likely he did not like the new flow pattern, they really are particular about it, and when they get used to it they really hate the change.

Then they pack their bags and look for a new spot as you found out. I really don't know why they are sooooooooo picky, the ocean currents are changing all the time, especially for the haddoni closer to the shore..
