Red hair algae

I'm still trying to figure out what this is. I took a picture with my blues turned down that was suggested last time I posted. I don't think it's cynno. It's not really mat like seems more stringy. I suck it all up but it comes back.

Looks like cyanobacteria. A lot of theories why the mats form, but little or no science behind any of them. No one to this day can claim to predict with more than 50% likelihood of sucess using tank conditions and parametrs whether a cyanobacteria will or will not appear.

Remedies are equally suspect, though Chemiclean (an antibiotic) and lights out seem to have a consistent but not necessarily permanent effect on the mats.

Get a little Cyanosolution or Chemiclean from LRS and dose a little!

Thanks. I've had cynno before it just looks different this time. I had a light go out and it took a week to get a replacement and the areas of my tank that were dark didn't seem to get better. I'll try an suck it up and hit it with chemiclean and see how it goes.
