red legged hermit crab

I purchased one after reading they were better algae eaters then the blue legged hermits .

but let me tell you compared to the blue legged guys i have this guy is way boring . while the blues scamper all about he can spend days in one spot .

is this normal for these guys or did i just get a lazy one??

It's normal. There not as aggressive as the blue legged hermits IMO. Pretty layed back temperamant.

mine sits around in the day, and cleaned off a medium liverock over night

also, if you are talking about scarlets (I don't know what a red leg is so if it is different disreguard) they are nocternal and territorial, so that means they move about at night and return to the same spot during the day while they sleep

Ok sounds like mine is normal . i believe red legged is just another name for scarlet but i may be wrong.
i will take a peek a night to see if thats his time to move about.
