I have some red course Macro algae starting to grow on some of my rocks. I've had this problem before, and I've ended up removing the rocks because it starts taking over. Is there anything that will eat that stuff? Has anyone ever had problems with this before?
I have some on my rocks... looks like a crimson, furry web. I was told that scarlet hermits may eat it as well as reef safe urchins. I just added an urchin yesterday so I guess I'll keep you posted
will do. One of the employees said the urchin will eat most types of algae on rocks, including coralline (but i hear they also spread the spores so it grows back faster.)
The only problem with Urchins is that they are exepcionally good to move the corals and rockwork so if yu have small frags, or small rocks then it is a bit of a problem.
