Red Mushroom jumped

Red Mushroom frag 4 weeks old
It came superglued to rock rubble
Doubled in size since purchase

2 days ago, looked like it was getting hammered by a non-existant current.
Last night, it jumped! Little bugger is in the sand bed under one of my caves. Upon investigation of it's previous rock rubble, there appears to be some of it there, or smaller ones, looks like 2-3 new heads? Is this how they multiply?

Did it mean to just move a little bit over and fell off?

I had it on the very bottom of a piece of my LR, under an overhang, so low to no light and little to no current.

I'm wondering if he went to move over for the other's and ended up in the sand instead? He's moved around down there probably 3-6" in the couple hours I checked on it last night.

Do I grab him and rubber band him on the other side of my tank, or just let him find a new spot he likes? Seems to walk!

Will he survive on the sand bed if he decides to stay there?

Yep. It's normal. And one of the reasons they end up all over the tank.

Corallimorphs aren't a true coral. They aren't an anemone either. They have characteristics of both. And one of those characteristics is the ability to move. It will find the home it wants before long.

Yep, that's one form of multiplying. The red mushroom in my son's tank did the same thing. You can grab it and rubberband it to the rock or, fill a small plastic cup up with rubble, place the mushroom on it and use some fabric netting secured by a rubber band around the cup.
