Red ORA Goniopora getting big, how to frag?

Hey guys, got this red goniopora and it was pretty small, now it has probably tripled or quadrupled in size and has encrusted over the live rocks, there is no way for me to take it out to frag. Any ideas on how to frag it safely inside the tank without causing harm?

Wow, that's an awesome Goni! I personally wouldn't touch it. But if you must frag it it's easy to do with a band saw, just cut it up into pieces or cut pieces off. I would also do an iodine dip with all cut pieces to help combat bacterial infections. You'll just have to get it out the best way that you can.

Too nice of a coral to cut up though.

Thanks but the issue is that it encrusted on the live rock that I won't be able to get it out of the water. Is there a saw that can be used underwater?

This isn't answering your question but that goniopora looks awesome, great color. Any tips for growth and color like that?

Let it grow, let it grow,
Let it blossom, let it flow
In the sun, the rain, the snow,
Love is lovely, so let it grow, let it grow

Hi I know you said non direct flow and feeding reef roids.. what about your water quality? I know this doesn't help but i have wanted a red goni for so long, I just don't wanna kill it

I think I would just move some other stuff out of the way :) That's a great looking coral. Many people have a hard time keeping them alive. Fragging something like that might be dancing with death.

Exactly, I paid $100 for a little frag of this thing, I'm afraid to start messing with it and lose the whole piece
