Red Planet...

Mine never grew like this until I started running my lights longer

Red Planet loves to encrust! The more flow it gets, the more it will encrust. Unlike staghorns and bottlebrush Acros, tables like to feel secure, so they encrust. Mine has encrusted so much, I have to regularly kalk paste the base edge to keep it from over taking other corals. It's almost as bad as green star polyp. ;)

I actually have a bunch of excess frags of Red Planet that two days ago I had to place onto 'colony' plugs just to stop them from growing onto the bottom of the tank, as they had completely encrusted their previous plugs in just over a month. Here a pic to show you what I mean, excuse the dirtiness and Aiptasia :debi: ...
