Red Plate (Fungia)

Was just at Fish Pros formerly known as Northbay Aquatics and picked up a nice red plate coral (Fungia) for $40!!! Anthony was there and bagged it for me. I made out like a bandit! Its still small (about 2 in. across) but they are very rare in the hobby! H ejust didnt know what he had. On a another note, the store is looking very nice and they've been recieving coral shipments again so check em out!

Nice grab jake. I think I saw that one in there a couple weeks ago. It was marked at $55 then. Lets see a pic. I assume the coloration is what makes it rare? I have an orange one, which I love. Here's a poor picture of it

Ben- yeah, the solid true red coloration is very rare. The orange ones are really nice but they're fairly common.

Nice find Jake. I saw one down at a fish store in Milpitas and they wanted like $250. Any other nice pieces at Fish Pros?

yeah they go for several hundred dollars usually. Ive seen them sell for as much as 400! There were a couple other things that might interest you, check em out.

I tried to get a decent pic this weekend but the new bulbs Im running are much darker which makes it much more difficult, even with the highest iso speed(1800) my shots still turned out a little hazy. I'll get one this week though:fun2:

Put the camera on a tripod for stability then use a longer shutterspeed and drop your ISO.
